Kathua May 27: In a decisive action against drug menace, a  team of Police Station Kathua seized  heroin like substance and arrested a notorious drug peddler wanted for spread of drugs in the area. A team of Police Station Kathua led by  SHO Police Station Kathua on Patrolling/Naka  checkpoint  at Bhagthali apprehended a notorious drug peddler coming from Punjab on his Motor Cycle  bearing registration no. PB08-4595 towards Kathua. He was signalled to stop the bike and during his checking heroin like substance recovered from his illegal possession. On dated 23-05-2020 Police team of P/S Rajbagh on routine naka checking at NHW near P/S Rajbagh signalled a vehicle ( CANTER ) to stop for checking bearing registration No. HR45B-6574 which was coming from Jammu towards Lakhanpur. During the checking of said vehicle, 277 Apple boxes were found loaded in it, out of which 55 cardboard boxes (Apple boxes) were found containing Poppy straw @ 10 kg each, amounting to total 5 quintals and 50 kg Poppy straw. which were illegally and stealthily hidden in the apple boxes...

Kathua,May 22: Reacting swiftly on a specific information Kathua Police busted an illegal trade of transporting Govt Cement/Tin Sheets  meant for  of Govt Works Not for Sale on retails.  The said Govt. material has illegally been sold by GREF Officials to one Des Raj@Suresh S/O Munshi Ram resident of Roulka Bani, a labour mate working with GREF for his personal use which was found loaded in a private tipper on way to Roulka.  On this the Police team of P/S Bani intercepted said tipper bearing registration No.JK02CC-2401 at Roulka Morh. Today on 21.05.2020 A team of P/S Lakhanpur while on naka checking duty at Bi-pass road Lakhanpur. Police party signaled a truck to stop bearing Registration No. JK02X-0951, coming from Punjab towards Jammu. Kathua, May 20 : Reacting swiftly on specific information a raid was conducted by a Police team of P/S Bani at Village Saili lowing, wherein one Shadi Lal was found involed in preparing illicit Desi liqour in the premise of his house. Police team destroyed Desi Lahan about 500 litres, seized various equipments like plastic drums, Buckets pipes /Utensils used in the distillations of illicit liquor. District Police Headquarters Kathua Press Release Kathua May 10 : Sh. Farooq Khan , Advisor to LG Jammu and Kashmir UT today visited Lakhanpur and review Covid-19 situation. Sh.Sanjeev Verma Division Commissioner Jammu ,  Sh.Sahu Commissioner Secretary, Sh O.P. Bhagat DC Kathua and Sh Shailendra Mishra SSP Kathua were also present during the visit. Sh. Farooq Khan also chaired meeting to review the overall arrangements especially for  citizens of Jammu and Kashmir UT stranded outside the state.

Today in morning Kathua Police recieved an information about protest in Chenab Textile Mill Kathua by group of employees and labour who resorted to damage of property.

District Police Headquarters Kathua Press Release Today in morning Kathua Police recieved an information about protest in Chenab Textile Mill Kathua by group of employees and labour who resorted to damage of property.  This group of protesters resorted to stone pelting and damaged a Police vehicle (Gypsy) when Police intervened to disperse them . Several Police Personnel including one officer recieved injuries.Later Police resorted to Mild cane charge and dispersed the mob. Pertinently all these protesters were employees of Chenab Textile Mill Kathua and were agitating over full salary issue which their employer did not paid but only partial amount to them. Police also registered a case  Fir no 121/2020 u/s 307/336/427/332/353/188/269/270/147 IPC on this incident.
