KATHUA POLICE SEIZED 40 LITRES OF ILLICIT LIQUOR AND DESTROYED 3500 LITRES OF LAHAN
Kathua, May 15 : In continue drive against illicit liquor, Kathua Police conducted a series of raids in the jurisdiction of Police station Kathua in which 3500 litres of raw materials (Lahan) destroyed and seized 40 litres illicit liquor.
Police team of Police Station Kathua during raid in village Chak Drab Khan ( Kathua) in which 30 litres of illicit liquor was seized along with the utensils used for preparation of illicit liquor and destroyed about 500 liters of desi lahan on spot. Police arrested a person namely Surinder Kumar @ Tina s/o Gyan Chand r/o Chak Drab Khan Kathua and a case FIR No.124/2020 u/s 48(a) Excise Act stands registered at P/S Kathua.
Meanwhile in another police action a raid was conducted at village Sakte Chack Kathua from where the Police team seized 10 litres of illicit Liquor and destroyed 3000 Litres of Lahan on spot whereas no arrest has been made so far.
Kathua Police is striving hard to contain drug and liquor menace and shall conduct such raids in other identified areas where such illegal activities are going on. Kathua Police warns all those who are indulging in illicit liquor trade for strict legal action against them and appeal people of the area to come forward and share information about any such illegal activities with Police.
