KATHUA POLICE SEIZED 20  LITRES OF ILLICIT LIQUOR AND DESTROYED 2200 LITRES OF LAHAN. Kathua, June 18: In  continue drive against illicit liquor, a team of Anti Drug Unit led by Insp. Vishal Kumar Incharge Anti Drug Unit Kathua  conducted a raid at village Barnoti Kathua  in which 2000 litres of raw materials ( Lahan ) destroyed, seized 20  litres illicit liquor on spot and arrested one person namely Veerpal s/o Saroop Lal  resident of Charkan Bishnah at present Barnoti  Kathua who is involed in making and selling  illicit liquor.                In this regard  a case FIR No.162/2020 U/S  48(a) Excise Act stands registered at P/S Kathua against  said accused person.  Further investigation into the case is going on. DISTRICT POLICE HEADQUARTERS KATHUA PRESS RELEASE TWO BOVINE SMUGGLING BIDS FOILED BY KATHUA POLICE; 30 BOVINE RESCUED; 02 VEHICLE SEIZED AND 01 ACCUSED PERSON ARRESTED. Kathua, 14 June: In continuation to strict measures to thwart conspiracies of bovine smugglers, Police Station Hiranagar and Rajbagh rescued 30 bovine animals.  Today on 14.06.2020 a team of Police Station Hiranagar on Patrolling/naka checking duty at Lodi Morh intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. JK02BR-9547, coming from Punjab towards Jammu. Police Team signalled the said vehicle to stop for checking. On seeing Police party the driver park the vehicle along roadside at little distance away from the Naka point and fled away from the spot. During checking of the said vehicle 18 bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicles in a cruel manner which clearly shows that they were illegally transported.
