BOVINE SMUGGLING BID FOILED BY KATHUA POLICE; 14 BOVINE ANIMALS RESCUED AND DRIVER ARRESTED
Kathua June 07: In continuation to strict measures to thwart conspiracies of bovine smugglers, a team of Police Station Lakhanpur succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling bid, rescued 14 bovine animals and seized the truck involved.
Today on 07.06.2020 a team of P/S Lakhanpur while on Naka checking duty at NHW Lakhanpur intercepted a truck bearing Registration No.JK02AK-6979, coming from Punjab towards Kathua via truck terminal point Lakhanpur signalled to stop for checking. On seeing Police party the driver stopped the said vehicle and trying to escape but later he was caught by Police. On physical checking of the said vehicle 14 bovine were found loaded in the said vehicle brutally tied with ropes.
In police action a case FIR No. 51/2020 U/S 188, IPC 11 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Lakhanpur against Sher Ali s/o Khalil Ahmed resident of Makhanpur Gujjran tehsil RS Pura Jammu and accused person arrested and further investigation is going on.
