BOVINE SMUGGLING BID FOILED BY KATHUA POLICE; 16 BOVINE ANIMALS RESCUED 
Kathua June 10:  In continuation to strict measures to thwart conspiracies of bovine smugglers, a team of Police Station Kathua succeeded in foiling bovine smuggling bid, rescued 16 bovine animals and seized the truck involved.
Today on 10.06.2020 a team of P/S Kathua while on patrolling/Naka checking duty on NHW near district hospital Kathua intercepted a   truck bearing Registration No. JK02AH-5977, coming from Lakhanpur towards Jammu. Police Team signalled the truck driver to stop for checking. On seeing Police party the driver stopped the said vehicle at few distance away from the Naka/checking point and fled away from the spot by taking the advantages of darkness. On physical checking of the said vehicle 16 bovine animals were found loaded in the said vehicle brutally tied with ropes. 
In police action a case FIR No. 151/2020 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Kathua and further investigation is going on.
Kathua Police is striving hard and taking every possible step to curb bovine smuggling menace. Kathua Police seek support from people to share information about bovine smuggling on 100 with Police for the cause. Your identity will be kept confidential
